Hello, I was wondering : building an upright-bass myself.
What kind of element you/there’s used in the ‘zalinge’ bas (if that’s the correct name). Is it piezo ? Or am I cursing now? ‘Cause I don’t wan’t to use a normal bass pick-up and I’m a little bit of non-technical.. Could you inform me please? Thanks in advance ! Greetings.
Hi Machiel!
Well…the Van Zalinge uses a special pickup. Don’t have much info on this (anyone else?). My ebass is equipped with an Underwood piezo pickup, but there are many more pickups available. Piezo’s will probably give you a better sound, but you’ll mostly need a preamp to get the best out of it.
